The Crowd Decends

It's Memorial Day weekend. The Beginning of summer. And I've heard all sorts of bad things happen on the beach as everyone comes here. I managed to slip in the back door and took the toll road in. But I heard stories that the main road in was completely blocked and they shut it down to stop people coming in.

I'm avoiding the 'beach' beach, as someone told me yesterday that it's heartbreaking to see how much trash is left on the beqach, despite their being rubbish bins every 20 ft. or so.

It's another sports fueled weekend, as the Heat won last night and I'm watching the Monaco Grand prix at the moment. The U.S. coverage isn't a patch on the euro coverage though.

Settling In

I have this sunday routine I like to do. I go and buy an english newspaper and an Orangina and sit on Lincoln Road, reading my paper and watching the morning happen. Then I go to a cafe and have a fried breakfast. Bliss.

Then I come home, clean and do the laundry. That's not so glamorous, but unfortunatley it needs to be done. I might call some people and go to the beach later anyway. I went yesterday and I have a very nice spot I like to goo to that's between the two big tourist areas. I've never lived anywhere I can just 'go to the beach' on a whim. It's very cool.

I'm suprised how layed back it is down here. Despite the fact that everything is image driven, everyone is very chilled out. Must be that 'beach vibe'.

Doorstop Supper

I ate soup cooked just outside my front door this evening. Don't want the place smelling like tomatoes do we?

The Da Vinci code comes out this weekend, so I'll probably see that. I also fancy going to the beach again. What I've noticed is that the actual 'beach' is quite big. It doesn't seem ever like it could fill up. It's nice out there to see all the different people doing their thing. It's a bit hot though.

A Day At The Beach

I'm going to the beach today. No suprise there then.

The heat won last ngith in New Jersey, and it was an awesome game. If we win tonight, we're advancing to the next round.

The internet connection to the free wireless lasted about 5 minutes, so I'm going to have to talk the landlady into letting me use her computer to get the passwords and such, despite the fact that she insits I install the software. Its a good thing I get the internet at work, or I'd really be lost. But then again, when I was in Watford, I only had the internet for about half an hour twice a week, so it can be done if neccessary.

Edit: Yes! I'm in!

At Work

Sorry for the delay (I think this is the longest I've gone without posting), I'm at work so I'd better be quick.

Moved in ok, the place is a bit small, but the location is brilliant. Walking distance to the shops and things. I'm still trying to get the internet there, as there's a problem with the wireless or something. I think they gave me the wrong password.

I'll let you know how this weekend goes! Woohoo!

And the Miami Heat won last night against the New Jersey Nets. Go Heat!

Edit: Sod it, I can get the wireless to work, so I've logged onto someone elses. I hope I don't get hacked!

Sun Tannned Driving

If I had to drive this trip any longer, I'd keep some sun tan lotion in my car, becuase the drive home is giving me quite a tan. All on my right side unfortunatly, so I have to keep looking west to try and even it out.

I went down to the beach on friday night and had a blast. Man, I can't wait to move down there. I'm in a prime location too. The only island is Biscayne Bay that is walking distance to the beach and the grocery shop. And it's the most space age grocery shop in the world. Or so I've heard.
