Just Like Christmas

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

After getting back today, I assembled my new Ikea bookcase. After that back-breaking work was over with, I had another mini-Christmas of my own, as I unpacked all of my goodies that I shipped over. Since it was all wrapped in protective newsprint, it really was just like Christmas.

There was even a few suprises thrown in that I forgot I packed!

Christmas Is Coming

Everything seems a bit up in the air at the moment. What with the crazy weather, the situation at work, and Christmas on the way. At least I get a solid week off next week. It'll be nice to finally calm down a bit.

Due to the Lymington train changing all it's times to suit people who travel to London, I've had to change my hours at work. Which is nice, as now I don't have to wake up untill 8 o'clock in the morning. Still tired at night, though. I can hear a choir of people all saying "it's your diet", but I'm not listening.

Shipment Arrival

The things I shipped over from Florida back in September have finally arrived. I haven't dared try to see if anything works, but as I don't have any power transformers, it'll have to wait.

The company I work for is going through massive layoffs at the moment. While I have been declared "safe", several of my friends weren't so lucky. I might start looking for a new job in January. This left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

Christmas Season

It's strange that back here everyone says "Christmas" instead of "the holidays" like they do in America. I know it's all about political correctness, but after hearing "Happy Holidays" for so long, it's a bit odd to walk into a supermarket and see a sign that say "Merry Christmas".

It's a bit of a Pandora's Box, that subject. Well, whatever you celebrate, I hope it's a happy occasion!

Making Up For Lost Time

Here comes the snow again! It snowed in Middelburg last saturday, and now it's snowed in England! While (as usual) the public transport doesn't know what to do, the train ride to and from Lymington was breathtaking. It looked like a Victorian postcard.

Although I just found out something a little disappointing. Remember the intro to 'The Snowman'? It turns out David Bowie has redone it at some point and now that's the version on the DVD. Looks like I'll be keeping my old VHS for as long as possible!
