Adventures In Vancouver

It's expensive. Let's just get that out of the way first. It's crazy expensive. Someone told us it's even more expensive than London and New York. Yikes!

We went to Vancouver for Colleen's wedding over the weekend. Which felt very jetset, as it was for a short time, and we just went to Mykonos last week. Not to mention Colleen was able to book restaurants that don't usually allow people to book them out! It was lovely seeing old friends, and meeting new ones. We had a great time, other than the fact that I had a cold the whole trip. And my nose was very badly blocked up. But we found out that was allergies due to all the forest fires! Yikes again!

Adventures In Mykonos

Back when I was 21, we went on a cruise around the Mediterranean. Mykonos in Greece was one of my favourite stops. So to my surprise and delight, Jen was recently contacted by a PR company to spend two nights at an ultra-luxury resort in Mykonos, on the house!

It was a fantastic resort, and it even had three cats who freely roam around, joining you at meal times. Each room has it's own pool, and outdoor showers. We really felt pampered. To top it all off, the flights even arrived early, both arriving and departing.

Shame about the absolute disaster of a journey back from the airport, due to train maintenance works all over the south. But the trip has certainly made us want to go back to more Greek islands in the future.

A Realm Reborn

Which is a rather niche title, all things considered.

The Queen's funeral was two weeks ago, and while I cannot speak for all of England, it felt like Lymington was completely shut down, as everyone was at home watching it on telly. Which apparently was great for people who aren't monarchists, and enjoy cycling. So I'm told by someone who is both, haha!

Lots of people are now waiting to see when the new stamps and money starts arriving. And the post boxes, but only the new ones will have the new initials.

This year has been challenging. I do my best, but even then, I was feeling very worn out, so last week I went for a fancy massage and a for the first time ever, I had a facial. Jen and I celebrated our anniversary last weekend at a posh local hotel for the night, and really enjoyed being pampered. I think the young people call it "self care" or something. I don't know anymore. My days of being grouped with young people are drawing to a close.
