The Passing Of Time

Harold Ramis, the original Egon Spengler and director of Groundhog Day and Caddyshack, has passed away. Ghostbusters was a real favourite of mine as a child, and Groundhog Day is one of my favourite films of all time. He will be missed.

Also no longer with us is the Yellow Focus. 13 years isn't a bad run as far as modern cars go, and had it not been in an accident I'm sure it would have lasted a lot longer. I have many fond memories of driving around South Florida and Orlando in that car, and I'm sure it could tell some stories about me. God speed, old friend.

Downs & Ups

Mum was in the hospital last week. Luckily not for very long; although it's interesting. I'd not been to Southampton General since I was 8, and now I've been twice in a month.

I've started a new contract this week. It pays more than the last one but it's a lot harder. And they don't pay ovettime. Good thing it only lasts for three weeks this time.

Free Man

My contract has finally finished. They offered me a very nice full time position, but I prefer the idea of having two-three months off a year. No full time job's going to give me that!

I can now sit back and spend the next month looking for a new contract, with my brand new PS3 to keep me company. There's no real rush for me to get a position right away, so I can pick and choose the one that's right for me. I do miss my friends at the old job, though.
