I Just Can't Stay Away

At the end of the month I'm off to Florida. No, not to move there but to visit my old buddies. I left college over eight years ago, and since then everyone has bought houses, gotten married and had children. Have I done that?

Toyko 2020

The city of Tokyo has been awarded the Olympics for the year 2020. While this may seem like just another Olympic Games, there is actually more to it than this.

If you've ever seen the movie Akira (which at this point if you haven't, you probably won't like it) you'll remember in that movie, the Olympic Games were going to be held there in 2020. The Olympic Stadium is the set piece for the rather explosive finale, so just about ever sci-fi fan in the world is going to be watching things very closely from now on...

Not Looking Cool

I made a big dork of myself at work.

I was alone in the office kitchen and for some strange reason, I started signing "I'm All Out of Love" by Air Supply. I was getting really into it, and then I noticed two rough-as-hell Russian workmen come in to get coffee. They looked at me and smirked.

I would say I was back to being the dork I was in high school, but to be perfectly honest, I think I was actually cooler in high school than I am now.

Having My Cake

Merel visited Lymington over the weekend and remarked that now she knows why I chose to come back home every weekend. It's not just sentimental attachment that ties me to the area. The New Forest is pretty great on it's own. I heard that a Monaco-based bank has a branch in Lymington. I'd love to know where!
