Mr. Popular

I got headhunted for the first time the other day. They called me at work, of all places, and when they couldn't get past reception (as I didn't know who they were) they sent me an email. It was from an executive job placement agency as well. Everyone wants a piece of the Rich! (I had to turn them down, though, as other plans are afoot!)

BBQ Attack

Mum & Dad are hear and yesterday we went for a BBQ at the Burgesses. Good old barbeques! I haven't had one in ages! The weather stayed nice as well. I love the smell of barbeques as they always remind me "yeah, this is awesome".

Steak Challenge

Some friends of mine went for the steak challenge at a local Bournemouth restaurant. You have to eat a 50 oz steak and three sides in under 40 minutes. Needless to say, they didn't make it. They got about 2/3 of the way through, but the restaurant cheated as they had twice as many chips and onion rings as we got in our side orders. Sneaky, sneaky!

Return Of The Carnival

The last Sway Carnival I attended was the July '91 affair that was held on a sunny saturday afternoon. The 2011 carnival I just attended twenty years later was held on a friday evening. It makes it easier to go to out for drinks afterwards, but I think I prefered the old time. The old route too, as now it just goes up and down the high street, whereas before it went all over the place.

The lower number of floats is a 'Health & Safety' thing apparently.

Quiz Reign Over

I've finally broken the streak of getting first or second in every pub quiz in a new town. In the Sway Carnival Official Pub Quiz, we came second to last. We would have been dead last if it wasn't for the committee's own team. I think it's probably becuase this was the biggest pub quiz I've ever been in. About a hundred people with alot of eight-person teams. We got every flag right in sub-quiz though. The old lady who graded our quiz asked if we were geography teachers.

Still Got The Saints

After Lewis & Jenson have (just about) lost the F1 Driver's Championship, and the Miami Heat lost the finals, it seems David Haye has decided to join them by losing what he called "the biggest fight of his career". He was a bit foolish for talking all that smack when he was clearly the underdog. Wladimir's just too big.
