On TV Again

You might have heard recently that an american football payer was killed in Miami. He happens to live directly across the road from where I work, so naturally, when I drive to and from the office, everyone slows down to have a look at all the tv crews, csi chaps, and official looking police tape.

If you were watching news coverage of this event over the past few days, you may have noticed someone in the background driving a yellow car, shouting at the cars in front to drive more than 20 mph in a 40 zone.

That person... was me!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving for thursday. I watched the parade as usual, and next year, I can actually go to the parade in person. I just hope I get a good seat!

Landlord just had a baby, so I hope this doesn't mean the end of me sleeping all through the night. It's new beginnings all around. Let's just hope I find as nice lodggings after I move.

A Nice Visit

Some of the lads from Orlando came down last weekend and we had a great night out. I even went to some bars I'd never been to. There's always something new to discover in this big ol' world of ours.

Things like for some reason my "L" key has gotten stuck and I have to hit it quite had for it to work. For no reason at all. And it's really screwed up my typing. People said last year when my computer went bonkers that I should buy a new one. It's only about two years old, it's shouldn't need replacing already! I've played ZX Spectrums in 1987 that still work today!

Auto Show 2007

It's the Miami Auto show. Again. What are my awards for this year you ask?

Car of the Show - Chevy Big-white-van-with-metal-doors-inside
Best interior - Rolls Royce Phantom
Pleasant Suprise - Cadillac CTS (it's better than you think, but not amazing)
Unpleasnt Suprise - Nissan GT-R and Jaguar XF (they didn't even have the decency to turn up)
Car that felt like it was going to zoom through the window when I was sitting in it and I would buy if I wasnt moving - Lotus Elise (once again!)

The Lexuses (or Lexi?) were particularly boring. But the new Audi TT was really cool. And the police M5 from the Gumball Rally was outside. Oooooooo!

Perfect Weather

Most of the time people come to florida becuase of the weather, and most of the time I think it's too hot and too muggy.

But I haen't seen a single cloud in the sky since thursday. Not even when I drove all the way to Orlando and back again. The temperate has been absolutly perfect. No humidity, and just cool enough that you dont feel the need for long sleves. In Orlando, there was a slight nip in the air, just to give it character.

I think I'm getting what happened when I left England two years ago, when you know it's temporary, you start seeing the beauty. It's like what Brad Pitt said in 'Troy'

The End of an Era

The last of the university-style parties was held last weekend in Orlando. My Dr. Claw costume went down a storm, and took second place (it would have taken first, but it's all politics!).

I'll be back next year for Ed & Melissa's wedding, but I think everyone is going to be sad to see these go. Not because it's a sign we're growing up (which I suppose it is really) but becuase they were so much fun. We can only hope that the younger people there will take on our traditions proudly.

But they probably won't!

Halloween 2007

Well I've just got back from Lincoln Road, and here's my report for people's costumes this year. Best in show goes to a fully done up professional looking Batman, a beer wench at one of the local bars, and the Hare Krishnas, who I don't think we're actually in costume, but they made an awful lot of noise and looked very convicing.

The theme for most blokes this year seems to be Spartan/Roman type outfits, while the girls were all slutty fairy tale characters. The gay community, while I wasn't a fan of their costumes, put in the most effort, looking like they just walked out of one of Elton John's parties.
