The Tension Rises

Last week had quite an interesting episode occur at work.

I went over to my old job to drop something off with a friend, and my current boss decided to come over as well. It got a little awkward when everyone who meets me asks if I'm coming back. The full whammy really occured when my old boss comes over to say 'hi' and the first words out of his mouth are 'So when are you coming back?" right in front of my boss.

Needless to say, for my boss, it might have felt like when you on a date and you run into your date's ex. And you realise that they are so much better looking, more charming, and richer. For the rest of the evening you know you date is thinking about them, no matter what they say, you can see it in their eyes. And in this case, I feel bad to say it, but I was.

Not that I've ever had that happen to me or anything...

Great Weekend

I had a blast last weekend! Mum & Dad got the penthouse suite on the 25th floor that overlooked most of Orlando and was the size of a bungalow. Then I had what's probably going to be the best meal I will ever eat in my life. Maine Lobster and Kobe Beef just to name a few of the eight courses.

Then I swung by to ed's suprise party (suprise!), which I was late to because I got lost on the Apopka backgrounds and wound up in some 'Deliverance' looking town. Good thing Scott was near his phone so he could navigate me out using google maps. Party was a blast too!

And now it seems the company I used to work for has nearly completely moved in to my current building, so I can hang out with my old friends again and start riding the van work work soon. Result!

Last MHA "Do"

I'm returning to Orlando with Mum & Dad for one last MHA conference-thing, and I'm also going to be hanging out with the gang again. So look out Orlando, I'm coming back... for two days.

Elsewhere, last week I grew a beard just becuase I wanted to see how it would look. I've never wanted to grow a beard, but I have to admit I was slightly inspired by Russell Brand, which probably proves the sillyness of the whole thing anyway. I seem to look more and more like a villian in a kid's movie as I get older, and the beard certainly didn't help. Coulped with my now long, shaggy hair, I looked a bit bizzare.

Speaking of beards and shaggy hair, has anyone noticed how much Heath Ledger is looking like our old friend Jake the Rapper (who, two years on, is still on my "to-buy" list)?

Fixed Car

I took my car to get repaired the other day (it seems it was the water pump) and today I'm going to pick it up.

It's just been me in the office all week, and I have to admit it's been really weird. The whole week has felt sort of like I was asleep, due to the fact that I would show up for work, but never really wake up. The weather has been really overcast as well, so that added to the dream-like haze of the whole week. Let's just hope reality doesn't come back to harsh when things return to normal next week!
