Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry I didn't say it beforehand. I guess I forgot. Anyway, we had a nice holiday weekend, and everyone got four days off work. Unless you work retail, in which case you do have my sympathies. You also didn't get four days off if you live anywhere else in the world, or if you're Troy. Go fig.

And I had cake for breakfast this morning. Partly becuase I forgot to go food shopping yesterday, and partly becuase I can. Being a grown-up and all...

Bond is back!

And the general concensus is that he's once again, a total badass. It's back to the old fashioned Bond from "Dr. No" and "From Russia With Love". The sort of Bond that kills bad guys with his bare hands and then stuffs them in the closet under the stairs. The new Felix Leiter is cool too, but isn't in it much.

It's getting a bit nippy down here now, and people are slightly overracting. But they might just be in my situation. I was going out saturday night and becuase I'm in the bay, it's a bit colder. I looked in my case for any long sleve shirts, but of course, didn't have any. The only thing I had was a sweater I hadn't taken out since I packed to move to England last may. Out it came.

Oh and no one was lining up for the Nintendo Wii outside Spec's. So either I could have gotten one really easily, or they didn't have any. Either way, I didn't have the money. I'm waiting for Mario Galaxy.

The Jolly Shop

Publix has rolled out it's Christmas marketing full force this week, and it shows. My normally, not-really-all-that-spectacular Publix really pulled out all the stops.

Everyone from the sharp-black-suit wearing managers, to the all over the place employees giving out free food, to the regular customers seemed to be very jolly and content. What made it really special was that when the radio was playing 'Jingle Bell Rock' and 'Let It Snow', you found yourself singing it under your breath, only to look up and find that everyone else was doing the same thing. You can't help but smile when that happens, no matter who you are. I even had one of the nice cashiers when I checked out!

Unproductive morning

I got up today and went to the bank to get the rent money becuase I didn't have time during the week. And the bank was closed. I hope the landlord's not too pissed off, as it's a few days late already. I think I'll leave a note.

I also tried to get in the Nintendo Wii party on Ocean Drive, but it was invite only. Thanks alot Nintendo. Is this what I get for 15 years of fanboy loyalty? bah, I have the the right mind to go get a silver slimline PS2. Which is what I was planning on doing anyway, once I can afford it, just for GT4 and that fancy pants $150 steering wheel.

But I did pick up Transformers: The Movie. Dun dun dun duuuuuuun!

Heat Game!

Guess who's going to the heat game! Dad and I!

(Notice the proper grammer) My car is in pieces on the garage floor, as the for the second time in a week, the lights failed on last friday, so myself, dad, and the neighbor took it apart to see what was wrong, and see how to fix it. It seems some wires got fried and fused together, so I'm borroring Dad's tank untill it all gets put back together again.

And in case you didn't know, or didn't care, the widescreen 20th Anniversary 2-disc edition of the original Transformers: The Movie is out now. I just wish it came ten years ago when this sort of news would have kept me awake with excitement for at least a week. Nevertheless, I'm going to pick it up!

Back to reality

Halloween party was a blast. My juggernaut costume was a hit and the party was great. In case you were wondering why juggernaut, here's why. (I wouldn't look at work if I were you. Bad language and all that.)

I wanted to check out all the crazy costumes on the beach tonight, but I have to stay in. The washing machine broke with my stuff in it, so I have to wait for the landlord to come a fix it, and my boss gave me homework. Oh well, maybe next year.

Edit: Sod it, I went anyway.

It was packed. I mean Michael Jackson concert circa 1990 packed. Although suprisingly, the costumes were no where near as creative as the ones at the party over the weekend. No one came close to Scott's Captain Planet, or Quan's Cloud. Just a lot of gay cops, token ghouls, and clowns. The girls were all dressed in next to nothing. All together now, "No change THERE then!
