Getting Ready To Go

This is my last weekend in New York. I leave next saturday to return to South Florida and get my things ready for when I move to Sydney. Tomorrow, my friends and I are having a celebratory sunday brunch. We've been having sunday brunches for a while now, and I always look forward to them.

It's interesting in that New York will be almost entirely self-contained, in the adventures in my life. I'll probably come back to visit, but essentially, what happens here, stays here. A bit like Vegas, but cold.

King Of All References

I made one of the best pop culture references ever the other day. I think it might even be better than my Vin Diesel reference at my old job. What happened was, this client's website was very bare and basic, especially considering how big they are. My friend said "It's like they're a shadow government!", to which I replied "Or Jukt Micronics."

Give yourself a massive high five and a load of bonus points if you got that reference! I took a shot in the dark in the hope that someone in the room got it. Luckily my friend's eyes widened, and he shook my hand, and with a serious look on his face, said "That is the best reference I've ever heard in my life."

First Time For Everyone

I went to see 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' for the first time on friday. If you don't know, going to see it at a midnight showing is quite an event. It's a bit like panto, where you have to shout things a certain time, and people all get dressed up. It's great, and it's been going on for over 30 years. But what we didn't expect was that the audience would mostly still be in high school. It was a bit awkward.

Oh, and with my visit to Staten Island on saturday, I have now been to "The Five Boroughs of Death", as KRS-One calls them.

Brothers In Weather

I hear England has been hit with the biggest snowfall since we lived there. Well London, it must have been alot for you to shut down all of the busses. I noticed they don't salt the roads as much as they do over here. We've just gotten some snow again today. I would say that maybe London isn't as prepared for snow as New York, but somehow, saying that just sounds a bit... dirty.
