World Of Glasses

Another step in my "getting old" phase is that I now need glasses. Apparently my prescription hasn't changed from three years ago, but my vision is definitely blurrier than it's ever been. I went and picked them up last Saturday.

Luckily, I don't need to wear them all the time, just when I'm looking at screen or driving. So, pretty much all the time. It's pretty shocking just how blurry everything looks when I take them off, which isn't a good sign. I've always been fearful of losing my vision, so I suppose it's a good thing I'm looking after it now.

A Trap

Last night I went to see Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which is a film a would not have been able to sit through as a child. It's pretty grim.

But driving home, I noticed a BMW pull up next to me at the traffic lights. I really hoped they didn't want to race, or do anything silly. But looking over at the driver, I saw a young policewoman grinning back at me! I got the feeling she was waiting for me to act like a hooligan, so she could give me a ticket.

When the light turned green, I accelerated briskly, but stopped dead at 40mph, haha!

One Year Later

It's been a tough year without Dad. There have been so many little moments where I've thought "I'll have to tell Dad the next time I see him", or "I'll have to ask Dad about that", only to remember that I won't get that chance. The best thing we can do is to keep our head up, and keep going. I've been told this sort of thing doesn't get easier over time, so I guess I'll just learn to adjust.
