Thanksgiving 2012

It seems they no longer stream the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade online anymore. Which is a shame, but I found a copy of the 1939 edition, so that's going to have to tide me over. Since it's Thanksgiving and since I haven't really taken any holiday this year, I've got the day off. And I can't help noticing that so does everyone else in my building. And everyone else in Lymington. It's as if I'm the only person in this place that works a 9 to 5.

I Wasn't Expecting That

As I sit here reading whatever weird website I was reading, I am suddenly startled by the sound of bagpipes. Of course, it's for the Poppy Day Parade that's happening in the high street, but imagine if it wasn't November 11th. Then it would be like something out of the Twilight Zone. Or a movie dream sequence.

I'm also surprised my laptop still works. The same laptop I took throughout my travels and has been sitting, unused, in the corner of my living room for the last two years. I can probably learn a lesson from this, though I can't think what.

Edit: And now some sort of gun or cannon has just been fired. I do kinda hope this is all for the parade and we're not being invaded by the Scots.
