Back From NYC

I've just returned from New York and found it's much the same as I left it. It was great to see my friends again, though!

My flight back was typical JetBlue. Bizzare. The old man next to me was grunting and snorting the whole flight, the guy two rows up had one of those throat cancer voiceboxes, and behind me this guy was lecturing a kid next to him about why "math is useless unless you're an engineer or bookeeper". Then he moved on to "learn spanish so you can kick out all the illegals" and finally "Obama is Chinese".

He followed this by listening to headphones while snapping his fingers and playing air guitar. Wildly.

New York seemed calm compared to this.

American Vacation

We leave tomorrow for Florida. This will be the shortest amount of time I've ever spent in the US (I think), but it will give me a chance to see it the way everyone else has seen it when they come over.

I have to make sure I don't burn pink in my first day, or I'll risk looking like a real rookie!

The Snootiest Place in England

According to this article, Lymington is the snootiest place in the country.

And everyone wondered why I came back!

Jethro, Round Two

We're off to see Jethro again on thursaday in Southampton. I'll certainly need a good laugh after this week at work. We've got to do five days worth of work in two and a half. Good times.

But the World's Funniest Cornishman will make it all better!

One For The Dads

Do you like action movies?

If you said "yes", then you've probably already seen 'The Expendibles'. If you haven't yet seen this film, your life is not complete. Drop what you are doing right now and run (don't walk) to the nearest theatre. This is the flick every action movie fan has been waiting for since about 1982.

Don't expect any Oscars for acting, expect them for bad guys getting blown up.

Hipsters Everywhere

I went to a bar I'd never been to before in Bournemouth yesterday. I hadn't seen that many hipsters since the last time I was in Brooklyn. It was wayfarers, tattoo sleves and rolled up trousers as far as the eye could see. I didn't even realise there was that many in the country, let alone Bournemouth. Still, good luck to them. They must be getting work somewhere to afford their ridiculously expensive clothes.

And by 'getting work' I mean have rich parents who tolerate them doing nothing well into their twenties.
