Lewis's Wedding

All my friends seem to be getting married these days. Lewis got married on saturday, which naturally meant I got to catch up with everyone. It's great to see everyone doing so well, but as many of us pointed out throughout the day, it is rather terrifying how much everyone is grown up.

One thing I did note was that with my new living setup, there's no way to describe where I live without sounding like a complete asshole. "During the week I'm in Chelsea but on the weekends I go home to Lymington." Yeah, I should have just said I live in Grimsby.

Future King

Prince William & the Duchess of Cambridge had a boy. I can't help but be reminded of the intro to The Lion King.

Canary Wharf

Merel is here in London, so we met up the other day for drinks. She's working over in Canary Wharf, which if you've never been, is like an overflow of The City. London ran out of room for skyscrapers and businesses, so they all moved over there. Merel seems to be settling in just fine. Her job sounds quite exciting and she lives nearby. So no two hour monday morning commutes for her!

Next Week

Next week my accommodation woes should be over. I'll be renting a room from a very nice Dutch lady who has a massive flat in one of the nicer parts of Chelsea. Staying in all these doggy bnbs gives you funny stories to tell, but not getting any sleep is wearing a bit thin.

Douglas Engelbart

Douglas Engelbart, inventor of the computer mouse, video conferencing, hypertext and other things we all take for granted, has died.

I always felt it was heartbreaking that very few people knew who he was.

Back In Bayswater

I'm back staying in the same neighbourhood that I was my first week. It's funny, even though I didn't get a good night's sleep while I was there, when I got off the train I still felt the comforting feeling of familiarity. I never really warmed to the other neighbourhood's at which I stayed. Not to say I love this place, far from it, but it feels a little softer.

And guess who I ran into during my lunch hour on Friday? Katy "Russell Brand's ex" Perry. Very nice.
