Oh Come On!

Really?

Was it really that big of a deal? It reminds me of that whole Janet Jackson SuperBowl "fiasco", that was so unspectacular that Scott and I couldn't even remember it to tell Ed when we got home.

If you go back and actually listen to it, it's not violent or malicous; not at all like some of the horrible things I read about in Britain's newspapers. It was more like something they'd do in 'The Beano'.

Still, it was big enough news to make the headlines of every news channel and newspaper in the country.

Yeah. Way to show how grown up you are Britain. That reaction is worse that the offense.

Weird Hippy Shop

There's a shop around the corner that I pass every day, but have never been in becuase it looks like a weird hippy shop. But today I was walking around aimlessly looking for somewhere to buy parts for my halloween costume, and after coming up empty handed, decided to look in side and see what was there.

It's great! Its just full of old magazines and toys and junk from the fifties right up through to the ninties. There were people of all ages (myself included) saying "Wow, I've got that!", it brilliant!

Crazy Goings On

They've been shifting more people at work. And what's scary is that none of it has to do with the economy, which, in case you haven't noticed, seems to be all over the place this week.

What's especially odd is this whole 'Iceland' situation. They're supposed to be the most advanced country in the world, and they don't have any sort of governmental insurance on their bank deposits? That's a bit like Einstein not knowing how to tie his shoes.

And it appears Mr. Obama has this thing won. With or without Florida's help.

A Real Legend

Sad news I'm afraid. I found out the the Taekwondo intstructor I had in the very early 90s when I first moved to Miami died two years ago. This news had more of an effect on me that I thought it would. I used to go to Taekwondo three times a week, and made it all the way to 1st degree black belt, something that when I tell people I've only known a short while, seems to shock them.

He was a class chap as well. Always nice, welcoming, light hearted, and warm. The instructors he had under his wing were great blokes too. I found out one of my favourite instructors actaully won the world championships a few years ago.

I also thought he looked just like a superhero. Square jaw and big shoulders.

Back From The Dead

My hard drive is still dead. I even put it in the freezer for the weekend, and it still didn't work. So I had to buy a new one and put all that I had backed up on it. What's annoying is I didn't need to reformat the old one because I kept it clean and fast the whole time I've had it. So now my computer lives once again, but with no real memory of who it was. Sort of creepy.

Edit: that last post was actually on monday, but my linux live CD thought it was today. Thats what you get for a free os eh?

Famous Person

Just got back from Florida and had a very relaxing weekend. You wouldn't recognise Mike. He's got long hair now. Insane!

On my way back through Times Square, I almost knocked over the first celebrity I've seen that is instantly recognisable as that person. It was that guy with the hat from 30 Rock! He had on a jacket that said "World Champion". As soon as I saw him I wanted to shout "Oh man, 30 Rock rules!"
