Merry Belated Christmas

If your in America, Christmas has come and gone, but over here it keeps going untill New Years, which I shall hopefully be spending in London. Boo ya!

Every time I come back I find it takes longer and longer in intergrate back into British society, but I do try, so bear with me. Most people that have been over in the U.S. as long as I, have already been fully assilimated with American language and culture (Jordan and Ed, I'm looking in your direction)!

Still, fantastic old fashioned christmas with nearly all the family in two seperate locations. Even had Slade on the telly (well you have to don't you!). And what with our new home base over here in Southampton, I'll hopefully be over more often!

The South Beach/London Connection

Heading back to London in two days. Mike's taking me to the airport (cheers Mike) and I'm coming back with Dad. While it's not the triumphant return I had originally planned, at least I'm going back at all. While I won't specifically be looking for a job while I'm over there, I will keep my eye out. Especially since I now have nearly a year's worth of experience and a bit bigger portfolio.

Updates will return to my original London era rate (i.e. whenever I see an internet cafe), but to be honest I don't update every day down here either. Working all day on a computer, I try to avoid using it as much as I can when I get home. I'll get square eyes.

Awesome Barbershop!

I just went to the best barbershop in the world. The haircut's allright, nothing to complain about, but you get a free massage and a free beer! And not just any old crappy beer, you get a choice of Peroni or Pilsner Urquell! What more could you ask for? And as I walk in the door wearing an England football shirt, I'm greeted with a London accent going "I like your shirt!" It's run by Brits! Thinking about it, it is typically european to give you beer with a haircut. If we could get away with it, you would probably get beer with everything.

"Welcome to Woolworth's. Here's a beer."
"You were going 45mph in a 20 zone. See you in court, or yeah, here's a beer."
"Welcome onboard Virign Altanic, here's a..." wait they already do that.

Christmas Bonus

Just to let you know, I haven't had a Christmas bonus since I worked at Publix in high school, so I've come to not expect them. But today, my boss gave my one of those new ipod shuffle clip thingys! So it was a very nice treat indeed. I'm looking into if you can charge it in anyone's computer, or if you can only do it on yours, and how to add songs if your computer is on the other side of the world. I'll be bringing my cd player to England just in case, and becuase I have an attachement to it, as I do for most things I've had for any length of time.

Bad Traffic

Apparently, traffic here is the sixth worst in the nation. How on Earth we're not number one I do not know. Its part of the reason I'm thinking of looking for a job on the beach when I get back.

BTW I'm watching the original 'Miracle on 34th Street'. I forgot how charming it is. Last night I watched 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' for the first time ever, so now all I need to watch is Charlie Brown and 'The Snowman' and I'm set!

New Look

I kicked ass at another costume party this weekend. It was a 70s themed party, and I have to admit, I looked pretty cool in an open white shirt and dad's old school aviator sunglasses. I might just have to start going out down here looking like that. Might be a bit too "poser"-ish, but it did look cool.

I've found if anything that uses alot of power such as the iron, the microwave, or the hotplate, are pluged in, the lights dim. It's really weird with the iron because it keeps swithching on and off all the time, so it's going crazy.

I'm going to start going to the beach more, as I need to tan up for England this Christmas. I can't go over there and have some prat in a spray-on tan make me look a fool. But then again, if its spray on, he doesn't have a chance!
