Lost Arrival

So I'm back in England, temporarily. I had a roten flight. Air India is rubbish; no legroom and a rude staff, and then when I got to Heathrow, all the coaches to Southampton were full, so I had to take then train. I did pass McLaren's headquaters, but I got on the wrong train and wound up in some sort of twon out of 'The Railway Children' (look it up).

Anyway, I'm walking around town now trying to find a VHS to DVD burner that burns dual layrer discs and isn't too expensive. i could just buy a straight DVD burner for about £60, but we don't have a VCR, so it's probably better to go whole hog.

On a interesting note, this is the same internet cafe that one of the second or third posts I ever did was posted from. How quaint.

Off Again

I'm back off to England today. My boss wouldn't give me more than 10 days off, so I can't make it a European tour like normal. As its the company picnic today, I tried to get the day off, but no. I go to work for an hour before my boss says I could leave. Still, at least it gives me time to pack.

Yeeeah!

Yeah! Not only is this the 250th post (after three years), but I got into the Russell Brand gig last night! Double yeah! I stood outside for two and a half hours before I finally managed to buy a ticket off someone else, but it actually worked better becuase I got to stand at the back of this really small theatre, so I was one of the few with a really good view, as everyone else was on the same level. There was only about a hundred people or so, and he was walking around telling jokes and things. It's suprising how tall he is in real life, and I know I've heard this before a thousand times, but he jeans are really tight. Like really tight. And it was funny because his big hair kept bouncing around all night. Fantastic!

And I'm a little annoyed that I only just found out Russell Brand is at the Blender Theatre tonight and tomorrow night, and all the tickets are sold out. And by "a little annoyed", I mean really, really, pissed off!

Ricky Gervais

I saw Ricky Gervais at Madison Square Garden last night! Bam! It was awesome! We had crap seats, but who cares, it's Ricky Gervais in person! Shame most of the jokes he did were from his DVDs though.

Yes Batman does come out this weekend, and no I'm not seeing it just yet. Troy and I are going to wait and see if we can get IMAX tickets. At the moment, the only tickets you can get are for 6am. Yes, they are having around the clock showings. This is going to be the biggest opening ever.

Just An Update

I saw the brilliant movie Wall-e on friday. It's one of those uplifting "restore your faith in humanity" movies. Of course that faith was quickly dashed aside when, on my way home, I saw a guy in Union Sqaure wearing a mask and rambling incoherent nonsense into a microphone. And he had a huge crowd watching him. Riiiiiiight...

The new Batman movie comes out next weekend, but I'm going to be holding off on seeing it, as Troy and I are going to see it in IMAX. Tickets to this are gold, so we're going to have to wait a while.

July 4th, NY Style

It rained. Ha! The fireworks were quite impressive, though I still have yet to see a fireworks display better than the one Scott put on a Gator Grawl. This one actually went on for quite some time. At one point someone remarked that it had gone on for more than 1/2 an hour.

Shame about the clouds though. Although all the explosions and clouds it made us look like we were in a war from about 150 years ago.

Ole, Ole, Ole!

Yeah! Good for them. If it wasn't Holland, I'm glad it was Spain. It seemed as though all of New York was german on sunday though; every bar we went to was overflowing. At one point towards the end, some yank german fan said something really offensive like "Yeah, they're playing like its the war!" To which I replied with a smile "And we all know how well that worked out for them, don't we?"

Oh, and if you care, you probably have already heard about MegaMan 9 and it's 8-bit graphics. It makes me sigh with relief.
