New Year's

I'm going up to Orlando today. But Ed and Jerome are out of town, and so is Oliver apparently. I can't get a hold of anyone so I can figure out what to do.

What a mess. Again.

Merry Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.
His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Hair everywhere

I haven't had a haircut since July in Watford. I decided at one point not not have it cut untill I get back to Europe. But now it's going a bit out of control. Which is ok if that's the look I'm going for. But it's alot to manage. If I ever get all hot and sweaty, the hair just sort of explodes on my head and I look a right mess. But I must admit it's fun to have hair this long. I can shake my head really fast and it sort of wooshes around. If it wsan't for the fact that the chap who cut my hair left me with a sort of semi-mullet, I'd be perfectly happy with it. That and the fact that I know I look better with it short. A woman a work said not to cut it becuase "you're only young once and you might not be able to have it that long when you're older". Which is true, seeing as how I'm taking after Dad in the hair department, but where do I draw the line. If things go to plan (which they never, ever do) I'd be returning to Europe in march. That's like three months. There's no way I can last that long. I'd wind up like Cousin It.

Getting paid in soul points

To raise money for my D-Day next year, I've been working at a job agency that helps homeless and low income people get jobs. It's associated with the job agency that I signed up with. As a matter of fact, it's how I got the job. They wanted me to come in for a day to help them write Christmas cards, but they were impressed by my ability to navigate their computer programs, that they asked me if I wanted to stay. So I did, but I said I'd only come in for about three or four days a week. I need to work on my projects you see.

In other news, I'm still applying like mad to videogame companies, but everyone asks for experience. So I'm working a a few things on the side. Stay tuned for more info. Maybe.

Me and Mike paint the town!

Me and Mike went to get jobs yesterday at a job agency. Then we went to Starbucks. He clearly has more money than I do becuase I got a small coffe and he got a muffin and fancy frozen drink. Speaking of fancy, Super Mario Strikers is probably the best soccer game since Sensible World of Soccer. You get to knock the other players around the pitch to get the ball! Every time I have my doubts about the videogame industry, Nintendo always comes in at the last minute and reminds me what it's all about. Oh and there's a Viewtiful Joe fighting game on GC and another VJ game on DS. I'm a big VJ fan, so I'm gonna have to buy those soon, and start watching his saturday morning show, as we don't get G.I. Joe up here.

Plus, Dad found a creative/it agency in Ft. Lauderdale. Guess where I'm going today!
