1939

Tonight I had a cognac bottled in 1939. Was it a silly and adolescent thing to do? Yes. But now I can say I've had a drink older than my parents.

Working at Virgin is a nice change of pace from the last contract. Everyone is very laid back, but sadly the computers and network are both very bad. Still, you can't have everything. Not all the time, anyway.

A New Client

I've got a new contract with Virgin Media.

I've been a big fan of Richard Branson and Virgin ever since I was a small boy and used to fly Virgin Atlantic from Miami to England. It's pretty cool that I now get to put this on my resume. Since I'm now not going to work for Rare like I wanted to as a teenager, this is as close to a dream client as I'm going to get. Probably. I just hope it will be more like my job at Gamespot than my last little contract. You've got to try and stay positive about these things.

Glad That's Over

That last contract was a doozy. It was only three weeks, but it felt like months. Maybe this is normal, but telling someone after they've agreed to the job and after they've signed the contract, that there will be mandatory, unpaid, overtime is not cool.

Something I need to ask about in future. Lesson learned.
