Sinterklaas

Whilst I was in Middelburg, we had a vist from Sinterklaas's totally non-racist mate "Black Peter". He came down the chimny and left presents in our shoes. As Paul pointed out, he'll probably recognize my shoe fromn the smell.

So thank you, Black Pete, for my chocolate letter. Your deterrent of taking away naughty children to Spain might not be so bad anymore if you stop off in Ibiza on the way back...

Thanksgiving 2010

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, even if your not in America. The Parade wasn't available to watch online this year, which is a shame. But I was at work anyway. At least I get tomorrow off.

I keep hearing a strange buzzing sound walking home at night. I always thought it was some sort of security alarm going off, but I found out recently it's the CCTV cameras following me. At least they work, unlike Bournemouth's...

Hero For An Hour

Since I've gotten back from my holiday to America, they've been moving me around at work from team to team like some sort of prison new boy. But this hasn't translated into alot of work, which is quite alarming as we're in a recession, and profits are down. In my spare time (which there was alot of) I decided to remake an old video game using javascript so you can play it on the internet. It turned out to be a hell of alot of work, but the finished product was pretty cool. So I sent it round at work, thinking people would tell me I've got too much free time.

Turns out everyone thought it was awesome! *fist pound* Yesssss!

One Year Later

It's been one year since I came back home.

What's changed? Well I got a job, and I accomplished my dream of moving back to the New Forest. Same with the big tv. So were all those long years of desire worth it?

Yesterday was a day with overcast weather. The kind of day I remember every day being as a child. I sat around in my pajamas and watched Ghostbusters, Paddington Bear, Heathcliff and the whole first series of Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

On days like that, yes. It was all worth it. Every single damn minute of wanting to come back was worth it.

Colours Of Autumn

They say that becuase we mad a nice summer with lots of rain at the end, this is the prettiest autumn since 1929. That's a pretty bold claim, as I'm not to sure how good people's memories are of that year. But it is very picture-postcard looking.

Shame this week the Heavens opened. We've got hurricane force gusts tonight, only I'm not sure where. Radio Solent said the south west, while Radio 2 said Northern Ireland and north east England. Anyway, it's windy enough to blow a rubbish new umbrella inside out with no effort at all.

Remember, Remember

... that it's bonfire night!

First bonfire night for twenty years and I must say I was quite impressed by the fireworks display. It had a Second World War theme and had firework silhouettes shaped like Spitefires. Even though it was raining when I got there, we stuck around and I even got in for half price!
