Christmas 2019

Merry Christmas, wherever you are in the world!

Things were certainly rocky this year, job wise. But at the moment, the future is looking rather stable, with my current contract due to run until about March. Hopefully it will get renewed after that, but at least I know I'll be secure until then. And even better, because I'm earning less this year, the government even said I overpaid my taxes, so I actually got a rebate for the first time in years! This wouldn't happen if you didn't have to pay taxes on money you've not yet earned, but hey. I'm sure the government knows what it's doing. Right?

Thanksgiving 2019

We just got back this past Saturday from our fantastic trip to South Florida.

First, we rented a great big Ford Expedition, but it was dwarfed by Alice & Carl's massive modified Ford F-250. We stayed with them over Thanksgiving, and Jen wanted to experience Black Friday, which brought memories for me, as I used to work that day!

Then we drove up to Orlando to see the guys and do the parks. The new Star Wars land is incredible, and if you are a fan you owe it to yourself to go on the Millenium Falcon ride. You actually get to fly the ship!

We then went back down south and spent a few days relaxing on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Before we left, I wanted to go back to Miami Lakes, and visit the places I used to live, which brought back loads of memories, as everything still smells the same!

Shame about American Airlines putting us in different rows on the flight back, but you can't have everything!
