Where To Next
My seemingly never-ending contract at John Lewis is up at the end of
January. For a month after that, I'm going to be back working with my friends
in Bournemouth. I can't stay for too long, as Jen is
still in London, and the pay is significantly less than my usual. It's more of a de-stress thing.
I'm probably sounding a lot harder on John Lewis that I should be, but there's just so many weird elements about working there, especially now I'm back in the main building. There's no paper towels at all, for instance. And when I spoke to a janitor about this, he said they stopped giving them out for free because it was costing the company too much money. Paper towels. Costing too much money. Yes.
I can't understand why anyone would work there full time. They have great benefits, but their yearly bonus, the whole gimmick of "the partnership", is virtually nothing these days. The only way they could make up for it is if they paid a huge salary, but for full timers, they don't.
