Festival Weekend
This past weekend, Jen was invited to be a guest of Jaguar Land Rover at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We were chauffeur driven in a brand new Range Rover Sport all the way to a modernist country house near the track, where we had dinner with the Managing Director of Land Rover. It was incredible to be afforded such an honour.
The next day, we each drove the new Defender V8 around an off-road track. I have to admit, I was never a fan of the looks or size of the new Defender, and while I've not warmed to either of those aspects, the handling, interior, and above all, the ability of this vehicle is fantastic! I can certainly say I've warmed to it more now!
Then we were driven around Goodwood circuit in the new Sport SV model. This was unreal. It was as if my GT-R and Dad's Range Rover had a child. It defies the laws of physics how fast and agile it moves around that track!
Next, we were supposed to go to the festival, where I was looking forward to seeing Nigel Mansell's FW14B and Ayrton Senna's MP4/8, as well as the new Renault 5 EV, among others. Sadly, this was not to be, as due to high winds the festival was called off for the first time in it's history.
We were driven back home, and on the Sunday we attended the Lymington Seafood Festival, where the original Crispy Squid has returned! It was still blowy, but luckily not enough to cause any trouble. There was a nice mix of people there as well. Between us, we spent over £100 just on food and drink!
