Back to the Future Day

Today, Wednesday October 21st, 2015, is the date Doc Brown brought Marty McFly in 'Back to the Future Part II'. I even saw someone driving around in a replica DeLorean time machine yesterday!

Back when I first saw the movie, 2015 seemed so far away, and it feels so surreal to finally be here. Much like the 2005 from the Transformers future, it's rather odd that from now on this date will forever be in the past. It doesn't matter though, as now it's here it feels like a threshold has been crossed. Like now we really are living in the future. In uncharted time. As Doc Brown said at the end of Part III:

Your future hasn't been written yet. No one's has. So make it a good one.

An Explanation

A few people have asked why I've not had a housewarming party. The truth is, as usual, a bit boring.

In addition to not having anywhere for people to park, I've also got nowhere for people to sit. All I've got is a two seater settee, and a load of cardboard boxes.

Maybe when I've got some dining room furniture and I know all the neighbours will be away.

The Sounds Of Lymington

When I'm in the living room, I tend to have the door open to let in some fresh air. But this morning, I noticed I could hear the train, and last night I could hear the announcements on the ferry. Since the leaves are still all on the trees, the only thing I can think of as a cause is that my hearing is getting more accustomed to the sounds of my new home.
