Barack Obama

Yup, he was in town last night, and funnily enough, was in the club Mansion (the club from the beginning of the 'Miami Vice' movie) which is next door to my regular bar! So me and the regulars were hanging out with the campaign crew! At first we thought there must be a birthday party or something becuase there was baloons and it was a lot fuller than it normally is at that time, but then one of the bartenders tells us who's next door! I was wondering why there was a news van outside when I arrived. So when the news came on, I ran outside and jumped up and down behind the camera!

Newfangled Nintendo

I finally bought myself one of those Nintendo Wii's. being a Nintendo fanboy, it was only a matter of time really. They're really hard to get ahold of, but my local Spec's (or Fye if you want to get specific) came through in the end and had a few in stock, but not the game I wanted. I know it comes with 'Wii Sports', but come on! You need to start a Nintendo console for the first time with a Mario game in it. Its a tradition! So I had to go to some dodgy tourist shop to buy it, and I even had to haggle!

State Of Anticipation

Even though I'm not planning on moving up untill after Christmas, I can't help but get excited thinking about it. I've already told most people, and becuase I'm giving myself so much time to plan, hopefully I'll have better luck than when I moved to London. Admitedly it was for a different job than now, but still; learn from your mistakes everyone says. So that's what I'm doing.

I'll know a few people up there too, as Geoffrey and Lisa are up there, and Troy's on his way too! I'll keep friday Hallandale movie night alive!

Reversal of Opinion

So it turns out Old Mr. Grimgrumps next door, isn't! He only gets grumpy when people who don't live here park here. Brilliant! I christen him "Minister of Parking Defense"!

In other news, my cupboard has been infected by Teenage Mutant Ninja Termites. Looks like ol' Shredder & Krang are going to have to come to town and sort them out! (That reference gets even better when you think the mentor of the tmnt was 'Splinter')

Wheels In Motion

I spoke with Lisa last weekend, who was down from New York, so I'm getting all properly set up for the move. I needed to know where the best places were and all sorts of insider things so when I arrive I don't look too much like a tourist.

I'd also like to say I think it's pretty cool that I officially know someone who's name is in the credits on tv. Watching "Hogan Knows Best" with Scott is like watching it with directors commentary!

Seriously! I got a friend if mine from the van a freelance gig at the company I work for and not only did he say I was going to get a cut of his commision, but he bought me a couple of beers too! Wicked!
