Hmm, upgrades

(points if you recognised that quote from 'Matrix Reloaded')

After nine years of internet service, Mum and Dad have finally decided to upgrade to broadband. Expect a change of email address soon. My motherboard arrived on friday so I'm taking it to the shop on monday, as I dared not try it myself and loose all the data on my hard drive. I really hope my processor didn't fry as well, or I really will be up shit creek.

I saw 'Jackass 2' last night, and that's all I have to say about that.

On the way

My motherboard is in the post, so hopefully within the next two weeks or so, my laptop should be back in working order and I can return to communicating with the world outside my own town.

In other news, my half of my parking lot is closed off for construction or something, so I was out of a parking spot. I felt really sorry for the valet at the hotel next door, but then that landlord said that it's their own fault for building a hotel with no real on-site parking, and that if I ever need a parking spot, he has a secret location 'round the corner that can be used for emergencies. But I can't use it all the time, because the people that live next to it are grumpy. And the people next to us are grumpy too, aparently. But the guy accross the road is cool, and the people next to him are cool too. And I think the person on the other side of us is cool, but I haven't really spoken to them.

Laptop-less

I took the laptop to be mended this week, but it turns out its the motherboard. So I have to contemplate either buying a new one, or getting a new motherboard, which seems to be impossible becuase nobody stocks parts for my machine (a 257sa1 in case you're wondering). I'm going to call the manufacturer and see what they say.

Puff Daddy/P. Diddy/Diddy/Bo Didly/whatever the hell he calls himself thse days, had a free concert on the beach yesterday to kick off the american football season. It was a bit crap and there wasn't nearly as many people there as it looked like on tv. So I went to the pub to watch the game and had a blast! Yeah!
