Off To Middelburg

I'm just off to Middelburg to see Dad and the family. I hope the "industrial action" that took place today does not affect my journey tomorrow. It's all go these days with strikes and embassy seiges. Never a dull moment. Even Southampton lost the other day.

Thanksgiving 2011

Happy Thanksgiving!

I wrote a letter to the editor of a local newspaper and asked him why they always run with a negative story as front page news. He responded that bad news sells. Shame, as I think people would rather hear happy things, what with all the trouble in the world today.

Perfect Laundry

I've bought new washing detergent. That's about the most exciting thing that's happened this week.

I keep trying to get my laundry to smell the same as when Mum does it, but nothing I do works. I'm beginning to think it's the fault of the coal powered 1930s industrial dryers they have down at the laundrette. As much as I like going down there for the latest gossip, if I'm ever lucky enough to own my own house, I will move heaven and earth to get the best washer and dryer money can buy. The hell with whether or not they would fit.

London Traffic

I wound up going to the awards show thing the other day. It was at Fabric in London, so we all took a coach up and left at 4pm. We didn't actually get there untill 8 o'clock, as the bus driver decided to go through Heathrow Airprort, then once we got to London, through Picadilly and Trafalgar Square. The event was a bit dull, but we all had a laugh on the bus. It was a bit like a school trip.

Awards Show

Most of the company is going to an awards show later this week. I really didn't fancy going as it sounded dumb and we wouldn't be getting back untill about 2am on a thursday. But I wound up giving in through a combination of peer pressure and being weak willed. Let's hope we can all leave work early the next day.
