Working Like Mad

My boss and my boss's boss were both away this week, so you'd think we'd have the week to ourselves and take it easy after working so hard for so long.

But oooooh no. We were so overworked I was staying late every day, which coupled with the fact that I always arrive early, means I am completely knackered. I want to ask for a raise, but like every company I have ever worked for in my life, it seems "Oh yeah, they don't give out raises much."

Yeah, it seems every company on the planet has that problem. For once, I would love to work somewhere where they say "Hell, you get more raises than free pens 'round here mate!"

Ummm, OK?

We we're in the bar all making jokes like "In soviet russia, ball kicks you!", and then... wah? By far the best team in the tournament gets knocked out 3-1?

At least the rest of my day made up for it. We even went to our rich friends' rooftop pool, where we hung out with fashion models, so it was like south beach all over again. Boy do you need money to get the most out of this city

Who Will Win?

I watched the Portugal Germany match the other day, I wasn't really sure who to root for the least. Most people in the office backed Portugal, simply becuase they wern't Germany. And I did towards the end, but only so we could meet them in the final and get revenge for the World Cup!

I reckon its probably going to be Netherlands v Germany for the final, as I don't see Turkey putting up much of a fight against them, and unless Spain and Italy pull out all the stops, they won't be stopping us.

It's going to be a cracker!

Pure Class!

if anyone's been watching Euro 2008 this past week, you can't have missed the fact that The Netherlands is destroying everyone! They even have the highest gaol difference. It's going to be one hell of a final if they meet Portugal. They'd better have a good ref for that one.

Going back down to south florida this weekend for Mum & my birthdays. Probably see M Night Shamalamadingdong's new film as well, as I heard the new Hulk movie was a bit naff.

Oh, and if you use Opera (which you don't) stay away from 9.5, as I just had to reinstall everything, as it's broken.

The Heat Arrives

Everyone's been telling me about how hot it gets in new york during the summer, and I've always brushed it off by saying "no heat can compare to south florida heat".

Well starting today, the summer heat has arrived. My verdict? It certainly doesn't last as long up here. It'll be back to normal on tuesday, and my hypothesis that the buildings will act as wind tunnels is true, as there is always a breeze. I will admit that it is very warm, a bit like standing next to an oven. But south florida is like sitting in an oven, with a jumper on, and then turning it up to broil.

Plus everyone was wrong and my fan more than holds up to the challenge. So nee ner nee ner nee ner!
