Eurogamer Expo

I managed to fulfill another longstanding dream yesterday: I went to a videogame expo and played the new Nintendo console before in hits the stores. I remember being in school with Mike & Troy and devouring every single news story on IGN during E3. We would download all the videos and wish that we could be there, playing the new games and seeing the new consoles. Like most things, I'm a bit past it now, as I'm not nearly as 'hardcore' a gamer as I was back then, but it still felt cool to line up and play the Wii U and thinking about those old E3s of the past.

Driving Time

I've been practicing driving these past few days. It's taking me a while to drop some bad habits I've picked up over the last ten years. Like indicating before I check my mirrors. I need to drop my South Florida attitude of "I'm coming in your lane, I just wanted to let you know" and adopt a more English and courteous driving style.

The Departing Summer

The Times reckons this was the best summer ever. While I personally think the best 'Post-Berlin Wall' summer was '94, with everything that happened I can see where they are coming from. The Jubilee, Murray in the Wimbledon finals, the success of the olympics, not just from the athletes, but from everyone pulling together to make them a success. It shows we still have it in us. Sort of.

Still can't beat '94 with The Lion King and all that great music!

Return To The Premiership

Southampton's return to the Premier League has not gone very well. We lost to City, Wigan and now United. They keep saying "Oh but you play so well". Big deal. Playing well doesn't get you anywhere. Only winning gets you places in football.

Sounds like the sort of thing Gordon Gecko would say.
