Going to town

Mike and I are going to South Beach tomorrow to check out this place we're probably going to rent. I few concerns I have are parking, and noise. It's about four blocks from a giant parking garage, but you have to pay there, and four blocks in the summer is going to be hell. The noise is fine so long as it doesn't keep me up or wake me up. But I don't think it'll be too bad during the week.

The parking is definately something to think about though...

Working Hard

Working long hours now. I worked last saturday and I work late most days. It's exhausting to say the least, especially coupled with my hell of a commute.

This weekend I'm going to Miami Beach. No, not to go in the sea, but to look at a place I might be moving in to. It should prove to be an interesting few months.

The Week That Was

So.

Here's what happened. Last friday I got offered a job at an advertising company in south miami. I took the job, and on Monday, 13th of February 2006, I started my first day at a real, full-time, salary paying job. It's awesome. It may not quite be the job I sent out to get, but it sure is alot of fun.

The people I work with are pretty great too. One thing I always said was that I have to work somewhere where I like the people, and I sure do here. I can't help but feel a little young though. After coming from Panera Bread where I was one of the oldest, now I'm probably the youngest member of staff. Heck, everyone's married, and some even have kids! It's crazy!

As for the commute... well it could be better, but that all might change in a few months. Stay tuned, fans.

Rhapsody In Blue

There is an advert in America for United Airlines that has portions of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" in the background. It's animated, but with a unique sketchy style (rotoscoped if you know what that means). The original and best one shows a young man go for a job interview. The run up to the interview is plagued with problems such as the fact that he's wearing odd shoes and things like that. When he gets there, it's all serious and no one is smiling and in the end they just shake hands and the young man leaves. As he's walking down the road with a glum look on his face, his mobile phone rings, his face lights up, and he jumps in the air. He got the job.

That young man... well it isn't me, but it's pretty damn close.

Oh yeah, then he goes on a United flight somewhere and we're all told to "Come Fly The Friendly Skies"...

The Tradition Continues

I just came back from a party in Gainsville, and keeping with tradition, I had an awesome time. I've never actually had a bad time in Gainsville, and everyone I've met there has been really cool. It's sort of like one of those college towns you picture in your head. Only better.
